132. The TREE of LIFE
I have sometimes wondered about the TREE of LIFE.
By its very description it sounds immortal, being of "life".
But a tree is a growing thing. It is seasonal. It glories for a moment, and returns in another season.
If it was an earthly tree, then its content should still exist, but hey, dont mount an expedition yet...
If it was a metaphoric tree, then probably it doesnt matter.Only the metaphor will return.
If it was a Spiritual tree, then it will reappear someplace, sometime, in a Spiritual setting.
Read this: ( I know you ve read it before..:)
Gen 3:22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
What do we do with trees:
Well, we burn them...but this one is invincible
We make furniture...possible
We pulp them...and build houses
We pulp them...and make paper, and books
Or we eat them, and live for ever
Now read this:
Rev 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is [the book] of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
Rev 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
We make books..The book of life from the tree of life is not such a far fetch.
Lets take this a step further.
Read this:
Gen 2:9 And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
Gen 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
What do we make out of trees of good and evil? Furniture, thrones?
Read this:
Rev 22:1 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
Rev 22:3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:
And something else we use trees for....read this:
Jhn 14:2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if [it were] not [so], I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
What else do trees do?
They fertilise, multiply, sow their seed.
If the tree of life crossed with the tree of good and evil, think of the book which might be made from its pulp, from the sacrifice of its life wood sap and bark?
Try this:
Rev 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is [the book] of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
I just wonder where those trees are. This is real, not a parable.
Somewhere there are those immortal trees.

I just love this Ross ….. thank goodness for your quirky outside the square, lateral thinking mind! Or is it God I should thank, for feeding you these ideas anyway?!
Rahab
