109. Busy signal

Priorities

A lot of people are so apologetic about not having time to do the important things in life.

So, what are you doing?

Thanks Patty,
And I like your comment ,"it works for me"

It reflects a thought, no , a policy I ve developed of saying "if it works for them, so be it", which is better than judging by my standards.

But it begs the questions,
"does what work?' and
"does it work like it should work?', and
"how much better might it work?"

Being busy about the important things is really about being "in service" to God. Being an active, loyal member of the Household, or Kingdom. Its not so much in what "things" we are doing... its in how and why we do them. If we are living conscious of God, moment by moment, as Patty illustrates, everything we do is part of our being busy for God. I prefer to read, learn and think about the wonderful truths of God and His amazing power and ways. His Design. Certainly they are the important things. But If I neglect my duties to my house, my husband, my family, I am also failing in being busy about the important things because that is also part of my designated service to God. If I don't have time for sympathy and sharing with people because I am too busy keeping my life tidy, I am not being busy about the important things.
I might lead a very busy, useful successful life, but not be conscious of God at all. Then I would be missing out the most important thing. I might live a perfect life and show charm and grace to everyone around me, and not be aware of God at all, but it is really be much better to blundering along, making lots of mistakes, leaving many things undone and to be "walking humbly with my God".
(Micah 6:8 he has shewn you, O man what is good, and what the Lord requires of you - only to do justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God)

I waste time sometimes doing nothing, or doing trivial, meaningless things. I wish I didn't.

Jesus said when He was 12 years old, "don't you understand that I must be about my Father's business"
It was His pre-occupation, amidst all His boyhood activities. This coming to a knowledge of His Father's business and what His role was coloured everything He saw, heard, learned and did. He lived His life with a sense of urgency. missus r
