114. Poem: I am a Christian

This page is for Kata who lives in Hungary.
By clicking on 114 in the index or searching "kata" or something even more creative, you might get it to all load on the one page.
Kata and I met at Vienna convention in 2005. She is a uni student studying business.

PS: here is a little poem, that I got from one of our dear friends from South Africa! Enjoy!

I AM A CHRISTIAN

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not shouting "I'm clean livin."
I'm whispering "I was lost,"
Now I'm found and forgiven.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble
and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak
and need His strength to carry on.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed
and need God to clean my mess.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible
but, God believes I am worth it.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I still feel the sting of pain,
I have my share of heartaches
So I call upon His name.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner
who received God's good grace, somehow.

WE OFTEN FEEL discouraged
When evening shadows fall;
We often feel we haven't
Done our best at all.

We look back with regret
Over hours that slipped away
And vow a new tomorrow
Will bring a better day.

No day is lost, my friend,
If you have tried to do your best;
So put forth every effort -
And let God do the rest.

~~~~~
PEOPLE COME into our lives,
And walk with us a mile
And then because of circumstance
They only stay awhile.
They serve a need within the days
That move so quickly by,
And then are gone beyond our reach,
We often wonder why.
God only knows the reason that,
We meet and share a smile,
Why people come into our lives
And walk with us a mile.
~~~~~

NEVER TOO YOUNG to be an example ...
NEVER TOO OLD to pray ...
NEVER TOO HANDICAPPED to show the right spirit.

LOVE TRANSFORMS ...
Ambition into aspiration ...
Greed into gratitude ...
Selfishness into service ...
Getting into giving ...
Demands into dedication.

HEIGHTS BY GREAT MEN are reached and kept,
Were not attained by sudden flight;
But they, while their companions slept,
Were toiling upward in the night.

*Lord Strengthen Me*

Lord strengthen me so that I may disappoint you less
And that every day I live, I can give you of my best

Lord strengthen me so that when tests and temptations abound
I may run the race to receive that eternal crown

Lord strengthen me so when Satan whispers on every side
I may draw oh so much nearer, and in your love abide

Lord strengthen me, that I may determine that which is right or wrong
Increase my faith, and restore again within me your song

Lord strengthen me when the worlds call is strong, self love holds dear
That I may take a further step with thee, banishing every fear

Lord strengthen me, that I could learn to wisely choose
To remember that any earthly gain, I am only going to lose

Lord strengthen me that I may help another to stand firm
Your will only for my life, O Lord let me learn

Lord strengthen me that in times of darkness I may understand
The safest and the only place, for me, is in the hollow of thy hand

Lord strengthen me in times of desperation and despair
Help me to remember that in eternal life I wish to be with you there

Lord strengthen me, how much I need thy grace
And lead me on until one day I see thee face to face

Lord strengthen me that when even my life is at stake
I could remember and praise thee, because it is for Jesus sake.

Monique Flavell ………… South Australia - 26th June 2005

Written after Sunday fellowship, after one their age had just left the
truth; she will be 17 next Monday. A young lad in that meeting prayed
'Lord strengthen me so that I may disappoint you less'.

Little girl flawlessly exposed flawed argument of school teacher!
Little girl revealed her understanding that we do not see all that exists.
After all no-one could see microbes before the microscope was invented, but they existed didn't they.
We can present fanciful arguments against the facts, but it doesn't alter the facts!
And Creation as we know it may have evolved ... but that is just as strong an argument for the Creator as against Him. missus r
